Shakespeare on the Castle lawn/Girls Night Out!

Last week was long and it was nice because the boys were in camp some of the days which was a nice break. Friday afternoon Lauren, a girl who works for Pernille (she is 24) texted me to see if I wanted to come to the castle in Guildford and watch a Shakespeare play-The Wives of Windsor with her and some friends! Obviously I said yes since I now have no friends in this country :)

I met up with Lauren and her two friends Kira and Sara and the four of us had a picnic in the lawn and watched their friend Jessica who was in the play. It was funny but sometimes we couldn't hear what was going on so we weren't always sure what was going on, but we had fun and it was great to be with girls and just hang out and laugh! When it was over 3 hours later, we had a cake for Jessica because it was her 27th birthday and then we all went back to her apartment with the four of us girls, Jessica and her cast. We hung out there for a bit just sitting around and talking, but we were definitely outsiders so after a bit, we left and went to a nearby club called Fahrenheit and danced and pretty much just had a fun girl's night! And any time anyone (guys) tried to talk to us, we switched names and it was funny trying to remember which name you told who. Around 2:30 we decided to call it a night so we all split a taxi and dropped them off first and then the driver took me out to the house.

The next day (Saturday) Pernille took me into Guildford to get my car and I ran some errands for a bit in Guildford then went back home for a cookout! One of Pernille's oldest friends from when she was seven and at boarding school came over with her family. Barbara, her husband and their two boys all drove down from London, and Barbara is very pregnant-her due date was actually the next day, on Sunday!! We had a lot of fun and one of Andrew's friends also came with his two children. It was a full day but it was fun to have so many people around! I went to bed early that night!

Sunday I went for a walk and ended up laying out and reading my book on one of the hills around our house for about 5 hours. It was so nice and peaceful and the day was the best day of summer so far!

The only bad thing about the weekend was the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease because it is in Normandy which is right down the road from me. Only a few miles away. It is actually really scary, click on the link to get the latest info about it if you want!

I have been busy cleaning and getting organized because I pick up Grant from the airport tomorrow morning at 8am!! I am so excited, we have a lot of things planned such as visiting Oxford, London, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. I will try to update while is he here but it might have to wait until he leaves.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday and I miss you all!
